We are excited to introduce Luvo Lucent IPL, an innovative Intense Pulsed Light treatment designed to rejuvenate and enhance the natural beauty of your skin. Discover the transformative power of Luvo Lucent IPL and achieve a radiant complexion.
What is Luvo Lucent IPL?
Luvo Lucent IPL is a state-of-the-art aesthetic treatment that harnesses the power of Intense Pulsed Light to target specific skin concerns. This non-invasive procedure is highly effective in addressing issues such as sun damage, pigmentation irregularities, and signs of aging.
IPL is a type of laser therapy that uses targeted intense pulses of light to improve skin redness, brown discoloration, acne, unwanted hair and build collagen in your skin. Specific filters are used to treat different targets in the skin, including blood vessels, melanin, collagen, and acne. The thermal heat generated by the IPL laser results in unwanted skin targets to be resorbed or removed from the skin leaving the skin with more even tone, texture and reduced acne and unwanted hair.
Key benefits of Luvo Lucent IPL
- Sun Damage and Pigmentation Reduction: Luvo Lucent IPL can effectively reduce the appearance of sunspots, freckles and other sun-induced damage, promoting a more even skin tone.
- Reduction of Vascular Lesions: If you struggle with rosacea, broken capillaries or spider veins, Luvo Lucent IPL can help minimize these vascular lesions.
- Skin Rejuvenation “Photorejuvenation”: Luvo Lucent IPL promotes a youthful glow and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles by heating collagen fibers and stimulating fibroblasts resulting in increased skin renewal and enhancing texture.
- Acne: Luvo Lucent IPL is an effective treatment for acne by emitting a special wavelength of light that targets Cutibacterium acnes (formerly known as P. Acnes) bacteria, which results in selective destruction of this bacteria. Cutibacterium acnes bacteria is responsible for acne inflammation and by destroying this bacteria with ongoing treatments can result with active acne and prevent new breakouts.
- Hair Removal: IPL laser therapy can effectively remove unwanted hair from the face, neck, chin and body by targeting melanin in the hair follicle. The energy results in selective destruction of the hair follicle resulting in reduction of targeted unwanted hair.
What to expect during Luvo Lucent IPL treatment
- Consultation: Before your Luvo Lucent IPL treatment, Dr. Rains and the Beacon Dermatology team will assess your skin concerns and discuss your goals to ensure this is the right option for you.
- Preparation: The treatment area will be cleansed and prepped with a gel, and protective eyewear may be provided to shield your eyes from the intense light.
- Luvo Lucent IPL Application: The handpiece is gently applied to the skin, delivering controlled pulses of light to target the specific concerns discussed during your consultation.
- Post-Treatment Care: Following the procedure, you may experience mild redness or warmth, but these effects typically subside quickly. Our team will provide you with post-treatment care instructions to optimize your results.
How many treatments do I need? Do I need maintenance treatments?
On average 3 to 4 IPL treatments are recommend depending on the patient’s goals. Treatment plans are discussed during initial consultation with Dr. Rains and treatment packages are offered to assist each patient in their skin journey to help them achieve their skin goals.
Maintenance treatments are recommended based on the skin condition(s) that are treated. Most commonly, IPL maintenance treatments involve a repeat treatment 1 to 2 times a year to preserve optimal results.
